Experience: Insurance bad faith litigation; construction defect litigation; libel and slander defense; defended to a successful decision in the California Supreme Court an individual sued for libeling the plaintiff arising out of the publication of interviews given in connection with the U. C. Berkeley oral history project; prevailed on summary judgment motions in several cases involving insurance coverage issues and potential liability of owners and general contractors for injuries to employees of subcontractors (“Privette” cases).
